Hello and welcome to 717 Woodshop’s website. I am John Schneider, a woodworker. In the past I have spent a large portion of my career in banking but I have always had a passion for woodworking. Recently I have become a full-time woodshop teacher in a school that specializes in students with learning disabilities, autism, speech and language impairments and other disabilities. While I have spent my lifetime trying to perfect the art of woodworking this new career change also changed my perspective on my craft. Due to these amazing students, it was only recently that I realized the only perfection in woodworking is the tree. Once we harvest the tree, I and other woodworkers strive for perfection in our craft, but we never achieve the same perfection as the tree. I hope you follow along with me as I strive for perfection in this journey.

Wooden serving tray
I make a variety of serving boards from mutiple types of wood species. These can be customized to your specifications.
Charcuterie Boards
These boards all have food safe finishes and vary in size and wood species. If you have a size or design you would like please contact me for a quote.
Bourbon barrel products
Bourbon barrel products are made from parts of a bourbon barrel. These include wall shelves, tea light centerpieces, business card holders and serving trays just to name a few items.
Miscellaneous Items
These items include custom boxes, candy trays, wall art, coat and key racks, a variety of household and custom creations.
